I can't believe it's been 6 months since my surgery - so much has happened in my life in this past 6 months. It has been an amazing journey.
I try not to weigh every day, but I hopped on the scale yesterday morning and what did I see? 200 lbs! finally!
So, that's a grand total of 94 lbs lost since I began this journey. And, I've reached my first goal.
I also did a few measurements to see how many inches I've lost.
Waist: started at 49", now at 40". 9 inches down!
Left arm: started at 21.5", now at 17 3/4". almost 4 inches!
The 500 Miles in 1 year challenge 500 Miles in 2014
that my FB friend Jessica started is underway, and I have to get busy to get caught up. The monthly goal is 40 miles, to reach 500 miles by the end of the year. I sucked wind this week because of the cold weather....but I will catch up by the end of the month! I am hoping that by adding lots of walking and some yoga, I will be able to tone and firm up.
I tried to upload more pics to this post, but blogger is being a booger and not cooperating....so, more pics to come.
I've decided to re-vamp my little piece of blogger land to reflect my whole life. I've realized that my life is not just about the weight I've lost, it's also about the journey I'm on to improve my health. I'm focusing on improving my physical and mental health. The new name is in honor of my Daddy, who left this Earth on 4/6/15. If you said something my Daddy didn’t care about, he would say “you know Frank”. If you don’t know what that is from…message me, we need to chat. ;)

91 lbs!
Well folks, it's been almost 6 months since my surgery and I've lost 91 lbs! I am so blown away by what has happened over this past 6 months. In addition to losing an amazing amount of weight, I've completed my degree to be a Special Ed teacher and I've landed a job at a local high school. My new job starts next Monday. I'm not a teacher yet, but I will be a parapro in a special ed classroom. I'm so excited to have a job so soon after finishing school, and I know this will be a great step to finding a job as a teacher (hopefully in the Fall).
Back to the weight loss: a friend asked me today if I had anything special planned for when I reach the 100 lb mark. I haven't really thought about it...I wonder what other people have done? I'll have to ask around. I am scheduled for a 6 month follow up appointment with my surgeon on 1/20, and it's my goal to hit the 100 lb mark by that day.
